What is Animal Reiki?
Rei means “spirit,” and Ki means “energy,” so literally, the word Reiki translates as “spiritual energy.”
Reiki practice is holistic: it can be used for physical, mental/emotional, and spiritual healing. As the nature of Reiki supports energetic balance and harmony, Reiki finds the origin of the problem (since all health problems are “dis-ease” or imbalance) and always works for the highest good by balancing energy and clearing a path for healing.
For animals who are healthy, Reiki helps to maintain their health, enhances relaxation and provides an emotional sense of peace and contentment. For animals who are ill, Reiki is a wonderful healing method as well as a safe complement to other medical and holistic treatments. For dying animals, Reiki is a powerful yet gentle way to provide comfort, relief from pain, fear, and anxiety, and to ease the transition to death. Reiki is also a wonderful way to support a dying animal's family.
What does an Animal Reiki session look like?
Reiki practice starts with a deep, meditative state of being. As a Reiki Practitioner, Lucy’s practice with animals starts with creating a calm environment to connect with your animal family. Reiki can include placing hands on your animal, or it can mean sitting in deep meditation with your animal nearby. Each session looks different. As Reiki begins to flow, you will often notice the pet accepting the energy becoming calm and even sleepy. Pets will often communicate with their body language where they are hurting and need the most healing.
As a Reiki practitioner, Lucy will work with your animal’s specific temperament and needs to bring balance, for the highest good of your family as a whole.
